The clips in this video span about a year. We started out recording what we had been doing to train our parrots for indoor flight, so we could show people the issues as well as the achievements with our clipped birds. However, we didn't get the video posted right away, and the longer we waited, the more videos we kept taking, and the better our parrots were flying. It was hard to decide when it would be the right time to compile them into a single video. Recently, we have been discussing how to improve flight skills indoors for flighted parrots, and that was the motivation we needed to finish this project. This video isn't about recall training specifically. Note that even at the stage our parrots were, in the beginning, they were well-trained to recall to us when we signaled them. The kind of training we are doing here *assumes* they already have the recall down fairly well. What we are doing here is trying to build up muscles and flight skills within the confines of our home (which is only a condo). This shows that with some creativity, it was possible to provide some good exercise for them. Please keep in mind that we are NOT professional trainers. We rely strictly on the intelligence of our birds when we teach them tricks, which doesn't work in all situations. We recommend that if you are interested in training your parrots, that you visit the site of a professional trainer to learn proper training techniques.
